Avipar fue fundada el 21 de mayo de 1964, gracias al ímpetu de varios avicultores de la época, quienes eligieron como presidente al capitán Pastor Pineda Roa, y lo hicieron con el objetivo principal de organizarse, crecer en tecnología. Está conformada por los sectores de la producción de carne y huevo.
